New Delhi : The Supreme Court of India has launched a nationwide initiative titled SAMADHAN SAMAROH (Supreme Court Action for Mediated Adjudication and Disputes Harmonization Across Nation), aimed at advancing participative justice and enabling doorstep delivery of legal remedies.
The initiative, which commenced on April 21, 2026, seeks to facilitate amicable, consent-based resolution of cases currently pending before the apex court. As part of the programme, a three-day Special Lok Adalat will be held on August 21, 22, and 23, 2026, providing an opportunity for parties to settle disputes efficiently outside the conventional adversarial process.
Focus on Accessible and Amicable Resolution
The Court has invited advocates, litigants, and stakeholders to actively participate in the initiative. To ensure inclusivity and ease of access, parties may join proceedings either physically or through virtual platforms.
The initiative emphasizes mediation-driven settlements, reducing litigation burden while promoting faster dispute resolution.
Application Process and Timeline
Interested parties can opt into the process by submitting a request through a designated Google Form.
- Last date for submission: May 31, 2026
- Official portal: https://www.sci.gov.in/samadhan-samaroh-2026/
Additionally, certain cases have already been identified as suitable for resolution under this mechanism. Parties involved in such matters will be invited to attend Pre-Lok Adalat Conciliation sittings conducted at Taluka, District, or State Legal Services Authorities.
